Crafted Care Counseling, PLLC is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time fix.
What We’ve Done
Verified color contrast on text and interactive elements using both automated tools and manual browser inspection
Corrected the page's heading structure so screen reader navigation moves through content in a logical order
Reviewed decorative and animated page elements to ensure they don't interfere with screen reader navigation, and provided plain-text equivalents for any content conveyed through them
Added descriptive alt text to images, including our practice logo
Structured the site's footer and navigation for consistent, predictable screen reader and keyboard navigation
How We Test
We periodically test this site using automated accessibility scanning tools (including axe DevTools) as well as manual keyboard and screen reader review, and correct issues as they're identified.
Known Limitations
This site is built on Squarespace, which has some platform-level constraints. Where the platform doesn't allow us to fully control underlying page markup, we use supplementary techniques (such as ARIA attributes) to correct how content is presented to assistive technology without altering its visual design. We're not aware of any outstanding significant barriers at this time, but we welcome reports of anything we've missed.
