Straightforward information about cost.
Understanding what therapy will cost shouldn't be its own source of stress. Here's a clear breakdown of insurance, rates, and your rights as a client.

Cost shouldn't be the reason someone can't access care. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship, based on need and current availability. If cost is a barrier for you, it's welcome to bring this up when you reach out. There's no need to justify or over-explain your situation.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the federal No Surprises Act, and consistent with Illinois requirements for health care providers, clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of therapy services before care begins.
Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected charges for an intake session and ongoing individual therapy, based on the anticipated frequency and number of sessions discussed with you. You will receive this in writing, and it will be provided at the time you schedule services or upon request.
If you're billed an amount that is substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.
For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. This is general information and not legal advice.
